• Anchorage Schools

The Anchorage School District provides services for all of the public schools in Anchorage. Because it is one of the largest districts in the United States, they are required to have more amounts of standardized testing and more often. Besides the public schools, there are also private schools such as Anchorage Christian Schools and Grace Christian School, which is for kindergarten through twelfth grades. Anchorage also has four institutions for students to receive a higher education. These include The University of Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University. The two universities are located near each other, and people can easily walk from one school to the other one. Charter College and Wayland Baptist University are two other facilities that are in Anchorage. In addition to these schools, there are special schools for students such as the Alaska State School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Continuation Program, McLaughlin Youth Center, and others.
