Ann Arbor Public School District provides educational services to the public schools in Ann Arbor. There are several elementary schools, five middle schools, find high schools, and three alternative schools in the district. Cleary University, which is a business college, has campuses in Ann Arbor and in Howell. Concordia University, which is a private liberal arts university in Ann Arbor, is associated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. The university offers numerous areas of study, adult education programs, and study-abroad programs for students. The University of Michigan, which is a research university for men and women, is the state's oldest university. The University of Michigan is also known for its medical center, history of student activism, and its athletic teams. Washtenaw Community College is another college in Ann Arbor. The college is known for its course in high end car customizing. Students learn about show car and how to build them. Ave Maria School of Law, which is a Roman Catholic school, is located in Ann Arbor. The school teaches law that is in the context of the Catholic tradition.
