Aurora Public Schools, which is the sixth largest district in Colorado, has students who come from numerous countries and speak several languages. There are elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, charter schools, alternative schools, and a community college, which is Community College of Aurora, in Aurora, Colorado. Aurora Central High School, which was the first high school in Aurora, was named Aurora High School until Hinkley High School was built. Besides the public schools, T. H. Pickens Technical center, which is a vocational school for high school students and adults, has technical training programs where students can train for an occupation instead of pursuing a college career. Most of the students who attend the Aurora Public Schools are Hispanic. Then, white and blacks are next. After that, there are Asians and Native Americans. Most of their students graduate from high school. About 2 percent of the students do not graduate.
