Alphabetizing Animals
Students will have a list of animal words that they will write in alphabetical order.
This lesson plan is for third through fifth grade students.
First, you will copy the worksheet so that each student will have a copy.
The worksheet consists of different kinds of animals that students will put in alphabetical order.
Then, you will explain to the students how to put words in alphabetical order. You can use different words to illustrate how to place words in alphabetical order.
After that, you will pass out the worksheets so the students can work on them independently.
When they have completed the worksheet, you will collect them.

Directions: Put the following words in alphabetical order.
1. Turkey
2. Pig
3. Goat
4. Ape
5. Porcupine
6. Monkey
7. Bear
8. Kangaroo
9. Giraffe
10. Bird
11. Lion
12. Tiger
13. Snake
14. Squirrel
15. Raccoon
16. Cow
17. Fish
18. Chicken
19. Rooster
20. Horse
Each word is worth five points for a total of 100 points.
100 to 90 = A
89 to 80 = B
79 to 70 = C
69 to 60 = D
Below 60 = F
