Materials Needed

Shapes - Circle, triangle, square, rectangle, quadrangle, hexagon, oval, pentagon, and rhombus.


You need to make copies of the worksheet that is included in this lesson. Then, you can introduce the basic shapes such as circle, triangle, square, rectangle, quadrangle, hexagon, oval, pentagon, and rhombus. Talk about the shapes and how many sides each shape has. Directions: Draw the shape beside each word.

1. Square

2. Circle

3. Rectangle

4. Triangle

5. Oval

6. Hexagon

7. Octagon

8. Pentagon

9. Quadrangle

10. Rhombus


You can grade the students on how well they know the shapes and the words.
