  • This is a Catholic institution of learning that focuses on the whole child, mind body and soul. The problem is, new ideas are needed to bring it into the 21st century where independent thinking and motivation is a key to success. Area public schools such as Glover and Collicot and Pierce Middle do just that. All learning here seems to be rote, no debate exists here. One language is taught in the middle school, no chorus or advanced art classes, or band exists. If you live in Milton or other towns with superior school systems, use them for middle school. The kids there get accepted to private high schools and do just as well. The school has many out of parish students from less than ideal school systems and is losing its neighborhood flavor.

  • The curriculum at St. Agatha is need of an overhaul - especially the english/writing and science curriculum. As mentioned in another review, the principal should be replaced! She is cold, condescending, arrogant, and downright rude to her staff, parents and the students. For a christian school, one would expect a more open, welcoming leader who embraces the entire community. The teaching staff is good, though some have clearly stayed too long and should retire. The new teachers are very young and lack to the experience and leadership to effectively manage their classrooms. Trouble maker students, who spread vile profane language and behaviors, from public city schools have infiltrated the school and nothing is done to protect the student body from them. It almost seems as if the school will accept anyone willing to pay the tuition - standards have been severely lowered. Students not meeting academic standards are routinely passed onto the next grade. This school has the potential to be a truly wonderful institution with improved leadership from the top - the current prinicipal has been here 7 years too long. With a respected, respectful principal who truly embraces and lives the christian doctrine, this school could really shine.

  • Love the academics, love the values and the teaching staff, but the Principal has got to go! She degrades her staff in public, is not open to new ideas and treats anyone who does not agree with her like a serf. The after school program was great last year, but is staffed by young teachers who sat correcting homework while I picked up my child. There were teachers reading to the small students and playing games, but the ones with the older students were talking on their cell phones. Also, the school has become a haven for troublemakers who are in poor school systems.
