  • I love this school! The Maryland School for the Blind has been a God-send for our son who has multiple disabilities. The staff really cares about the children and they strive to find the best ways to teach them.

When my son's teacher saw that he liked music and found that it was a good vehicle for his learning, she enrolled him in the junior choir and supported additional music therapy.

The on-site health center is equally wonderful. They are careful to call me if they have any questions about my son's medications, feeding schedules, etc. If my son has a scratch on his head, they call me or write a note to make sure that I am aware of it.

The administration is under relatively new leadership and there have been some changes. They are really promoting independence for the kids, which I am totally in favor of.

My only very minor complaints are with lost communications - announcements of events, and the lack of parent involvement (which the school can do little about).
