  • My son attended St. Josepch's, Keene, NH in the Fall of 2008 for only 6 weeks. We promptly removed him for several reasons; 1) the preschool program is understaffed and overworked. 2) There was NO line of communication between teachers and parents. 3) The lead teacher, Mrs. Hoy, is overbearing, rude, and compliance-obsessed. I have seen her ridicule children into submission. 4) Their curriculum undermines a child's own developing sense of identity and self esteem. 5) Their outdoor playground equiptment is very outdated and down-right dangerous. They do not properly remove snow & ice and the preschool age children are left to play where there is ice patches.
Unfortunately, for Keene, there are not many early childhood education choices. No matter your decision, I urge you to steer clear from St. Joseph's School, Keene, NH.
