  • As MIM was our first school, we had no sense of what is good/bad/acceptable; now we do. For the cost of the program, relative to other area options, you can and should demand that a school work with a cross-section of students (different learning styles, speeds, etc.), and also a smaller class size. The teachers seemed unwilling or unable to guide kids in developing social skills. A complaint to CPS was filed on behalf of our 2-year old daughter, who was placed in time-out on the back porch on a cold morning (neighbors, who could hear her screaming, called CPS). Because at the time I was convinced by MIM that she was a "difficult child", I did not pursue the complaint. Within a month, my daughter (again, 2) was asked to leave. We have not had a single issue in her new school, where staff is able to take control.
