School Description

Walbridge School is the only private day school in the State of Wisconsin dedicated to teaching children with learning disabilities in grades K through 8. Specializing in an individualized curriculum, Walbridge School targets the needs and interests of each student through:

  • a very low student to teacher ratio ranging from four to eight students per class

  • small school setting ensures that each child is a valued member of our learning community

  • experienced teachers are specially trained in a variety of teaching strategies and adaptations

  • on-site reading specialist

If you know a child who is bright, but experiences ongoing struggles in school, Walbridge School might be an option to consider.  The Walbridge program is designed specifically for students with learning disabilities (such as dyslexia and ADD/ADHD) as well those who experience difficulty with verbal/nonverbal processing, organization, and socialization.  Supplementary services in tutoring, educational testing, after school programs, and summer school are also available for students who are not enrolled in our regular academic program.

Our mission is to develop a well-respected, sustainable educational program that uses a comprehensive academic approach to effectively meet the needs of children with learning differences, inspiring them to reach their full potential.

  • Walbridge is the best thing that we could have done for our boys. I wish we would have enrolled them at Walbridge much sooner instead of struggling through the public school system.

Getting them to do homework is no longer a test of wills. Within a few weeks of starting at Walbridge it was easy to see how happy they were to be at a school where they were accepted for who they were.

The staff is wonderful to work with as they really listen to the kids and to the parents. Every kid has an IEP as the staff know that each kid learns differently. This, and the teacher to student rate of 1 teacher per 8 kids really let's the staff focus on the kids and what their strength and weakness areas are.
