Island Pacific Academy

      Island Pacific Academy opened in 2004 and grew rapidly to an enrollment of 650 today.  Founded on the principles of the power of human kindness and generosity of spirit, emphasis is placed on respect for others, collaboration and being helpful to others.  On standardized tests given each year, average scores indicate students performing above grade level in all areas, reflective of the challenging, enriched and supportive curriculum.  Instruction is inquiry based, with emphasis placed on developing critical thinkers and creative minds.  Incorporated within the curriculum are opportunities for our students to learn about and grow to appreciate the unique cultural and geographical setting of our school.

     Fully accredited by the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools and Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the school has attracted a well-educated and experienced faculty, highly knowledgeable in their subject areas or grade levels and passionate about the education of children. Over half of the faculty hold a Master's degree or higher. Years of teaching experience range from 4 to more than 20, with an average of 13 years. These committed professionals reflect in their own actions the love of learning and respect for others that we expect of students, and seek the best from themselves as well as from their students.

     The school employs a high level of technological resources for instruction and student learning, including SmartBoards in all classrooms for grade three and higher, and middle and upper school students use their personal notebook laptops daily.  Fine and performing arts is part of the core curriculum.  Foreign language and specialized science instructions begins at Kindergarten.  In the higher grades, competitive sports and a variety of clubs and extra curricular opportunities round out the offerings for student participation.
