School Description
The International School of Tucson (IST), located in the University area of Tucson, offers an internationally-based and internationally-grounded bilingual programme of instruction in Chinese / English, French / English, German / English and Spanish / English. The School's philosophy and pedagogical approaches encourage students to investigate topics without being restricted by traditional compartmentalisation or methods of instruction, and thus allow the learner to develop global understanding.
IST accepts students at the beginning of the semester in which they turn three, if they are potty-trained; most students enter in August although mid-semester entries are also possible. Our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes offer full-immersion Chinese, French, German and Spanish. Our dual-immersion Junior School (Elementary) offers French, German and Spanish with other languages possible; all Junior School students also take English.
