  • we are 6 siblings class of 1984, 85, 86, 87, 99 & 2000. We all graduated some of us have children that attend PUSD. Its a good school. I remember kids from Compton, Rancho Dominguez that attended PHS most likely because there schools are not as safe. Overall back then it was as good as any other HS nearby. Plus this year the class of 2010 graduated in a new football stadium is what I hear.

  • I went to PHS from '83 to '87 and at that time we had to cross Downey Ave. going over to Wirtz Elementary School before it was reopened, it was our extra classrooms. I remember looking at my fathers old yearbooks he went there from 1955 - 1959. When it opened in 1953 it was top of the line. It is still a very good school. I wish I still lived in the area my children would go there.

  • In 1993 i went to p.h.s. for me is one of the best h.s. in my opinion every single school in L.A. have violence but none have such a good education. i miss all teachers and friends.

  • this school doesn't have that much violence. It has great teachers but the campus is crappy, the rooms are old, the football stadium is falling apart, it needs new grass, but overall it's still a pretty cool school. you will get a good education out of this school.
