  • New principle, good changes, heading in a better direction. Principle is working on filling the gaps where kids are following behind. She is passionate and dedicated. Now, if we could just get some old burnout teachers to retire, we'd really be heading in a great direction. So many of the teachers and staff yell and are so harsh with the kids, it's like it's become second nature, but it is a problem at Cottage Hill. Where is the love??

  • My experience with this school is limited to the 4th and 5th grade. As a parent I feel the emphasis on homework is much too overdone. If bright students are not learning effectively in a full school day and still have to bring home one and half to two hours of homework a night there is something very wrong with this school system.

In addition, there is no allowance for personal or special circumstances when a child is unable to attend and is then penalized for not being there. Even when presenting schoolwork that was completed at a later date it was not accepted many times even with special circumstances which prevented the child from turning in the work on the due date. In my child's last year of school there I feel the only subject they really learned was that if you have a personal tragedy in your family and miss school you will be penalized for your absences. So I give the school a B- and the teacher the same grade. Hope other people get to read this because I believe there are many other parents who feel the same way I do. thank you.
