  • Las Animas High School's "Lady Trojans" played Akron High School in a hard fought basketball game in Regional competition today. Akron won and will move on to State competition. We congradulate Akron for their performance. Our disappointment in Akron as the host school is that after the game we overheard Akron's coach comment on the Las Animas team and said, "get them out of here...they suck"...
How can we teach our students about sportmanship when a coach acts like that.
It certainly put a negative and sad light on our experience. My prayers will be that your coach gets a grip on his own conduct and starts modeling a better example for the young minds that look up to him.
