This is one of the worst schools that I have ever come across. The teachers place more focus on harassing the students than teaching them, they have a proven philosophy of asking questions later and badgering the students now. Their policies of giving none to limited amounts of homework just prove that they are not interested in stimulating the minds of these children. Which is proven by last year’s CMT exam scores as well as their proficiency rating provided by this website. If you take a closer look at the faculty excluding the security guards, you will find little to no diversity. It seems as if most of them became teachers just to have the summer off as well as to enjoy the excessive amounts of days off that this particular district offers. I have yet to come across a teacher at East Hartford Middle School that is interested in helping my child to succeed verses discouraging her from wanting to go to school and learn on a daily basis. As a tax payer that owns a home in this town I am truly frustrated with dealing these totally incompetent so called educators as well as the lack of Middle
