  • I just want anyone considering this school to NOT be hesitant in sending your child to this school. Our child attended Marion Charter since the opening. Our child achieved above and beyond !!!! As a matter of fact, our child received a certificate for outstanding acheivement of his f-cats from the commisioner of education . As we looked into sending our child to middle school, we knew we did not want to send him to Marion middle school, for what we are zoned.
We researced all possibilities, and considered sending our child to private school, which would have created a financial problem for our family. upon investigation of micanopy middle school, our encounters from the start were nothing but positive. Mr. Johnson the principal was more than willing to meet with us on several occasions, and answered all of our questions and concerns. Well today was my sons first day to attend school, and I can honestly say that Mr. Johnson must have realized the need for transporation to the school. He initiated school bus pick up and drop off as far as away as 25-30 miles from the school. My question to anyone concerned about sending their child to this school should first ask..... WHY are parents wanting to send their children to a school that is not in their district??? I would like to propose that my tax dollars do not fund marion county schools, when i had to make an itelligent choice to send my child out of our slotted school district......
