  • The school itself was nice and most of the staff is warm and welcoming. However my daughters 3 years, K-2nd, was ruined by her 2nd grade teachers attitude and tendency to SCREAM. Maybe it was that she had 37 students or maybe that was just her personality. I did everything I could to help out this situation and with no prevail. Purchased anything the teacher requested, volunteered, etc. Nothing made this teacher happy and they key adding students to her class. When i asked why this was happening, you couldn't even walk in her classroom. She stated the "no child left behind program". I still didn't understand what thus had to do with the class size. Also children get more left behind an dolt in the crowd when you have way too many students to tend to. My daughter also picked up lice 6 times while attending Kernan Trails. I just thought this is what happens when your child goes to school, I told myself "It happens to everyone". Well since she has been in another school, she hasn't picked it up once. They should have known if every kid had lice in this one over crowed class, maybe they should spread some of the kids out. So I thought I would ask for exactly that and asked the office if I could have a meeting with the Principle. "yeah sureā€¦..but can the teacher help you" is their exact words. I responded with "yes but I still have not met the principal and would like to meet her". After I called around 11:30am and that afternoon, my daughters teacher said the principal came by at lunch to tell her she had a parent wanting a meeting. So, the Principle decided to go straight to her teacher and requested she handle it so she didn't have to meet with me. This was so extremely disappointing and rude. I have since switched my daughters school and in 1 year, have met, seen, and spoke with the Principal multiple times, had no problems with lice and she is her class size is a normal 18.

  • My son has been here at Kernan Trail Elementary for 4 years now and I love it. The staff is great and love volunteers. Teachers and Principals are very hands on and do the best they can for each student.
The grounds are kept up nicely and are free from trash and debris which could cause injury and I feel my child is very safe in this school.
