  • I am currently not satisfied with this school. I am a bit confused by all the wonderful ratings. Look at the facts before enrolling your child at this school. If you check out schooldigger.com, you wll see that in most classes, over 50% of the students are NOT PROFICIENT in the Math and Literacy portions of the NJ Ask. Additionally, last year 60% of the students were not proficient in the GEPA. Many other comments here are accurate, teachers are enthusiastic, but not certified in special areas such as music, foreign language, secondary science, mathematics. Also, their checkmark-plus grading system protects our childrens egos, but does provide real feedback in terms of where they stand. High failure rates in the state exams are not good, so think before enrolling your child here.

  • My Kids love learning here! I hear stories from other parents about how much their children are learning and loving it too. The staff is also amazing. People come from all over NJ for this Earth centered, project based education. Its public, K - 8 and Tuition-free! I can't imagine having them anywhere else.

  • Great school. My kids look forward to getting up in the morning and going. All of the teachers are energetic and creative. Learning groups are based on childrens learning levels not age. All of the kids know each other from oldest to youngest. My kids especially enjoy being out on the grounds or down by the Paulinskill while in class. We are very pleased with Experiential Learning model being used. A very different experience than the public school I went to as a kid.

  • Ridge and Valley Charter School is a splendid place. The teachers are focused and attentive, the kids are friendly. Some bullying issues were dealt with maturely and it seems, effectively, in the past year. My own kids love it and are thriving. Their teachers are kind and fun and very very adaptable! I'm so happy we found this place.
