- Teachers have so much to do that they can't teach. The school system keeps extending the number of days in the academic year, meanwhile, my kids come and beg me to allow them to stay at home on days when they know they will face nothing other than some TV show shown for the nth time. There are days when I ask, what did you do today?, and the answer is "we did nothing". Substitute teachers come and go, and come and go, and come and go. They offer little other than discontinuity. Dear gosh, if you can afford it, make the wise choice for your kid and put them in a private school.
