  • Hazel Grove Elementary is a good school as far as academics go, however they will not let parents walk their child to the class room in the mornings, which I find very odd. Most other schools welcome parents in to their child's class but not this school. I took my child to school this morning and they made me feel like a criminal just because I wanted to take my child to his class and ask the teacher a question. I was told I absolutely could not go to his room by the counselor. As a parent with a child in that school I should have the right to go to my child's room. Can the school prohibit the parents from visiting the child's classroom? The school systems tell us as parents to be more involved in our child's education yet we are not allowed to take our child to the classroom. Hazel Grove is the only school in the Habersham County that is like this as far as I know. If you want to send your child to a school where the parents are made to feel welcome to visit with your child or to just simply walk them to their room in the mornings, do not send them to this school. The counselor in this school is rude to parents that ask to go to their child's class. Cornelia and Clarkesville Elementary are much better schools for parent involvement. I think next year my child will be going to one of these schools.
