1 review for Guggenheim Elementary School

  • I give this school a 5 star rating. I attended Guggenheim from kindergarten through 8th grade and graduated salutatorian of my class in 1975. This school was instrumental in my educational and social development. Learning in all ways was the emphasis. We were taught by hands on teachers and given help whenever it was needed. It would be a shame to take away a school that has been crucial in the education of a neighborhood's children for generations of some families. 1 of the former teachers who was later principal of this school taught and advised the grandchildren of some of her students. These are legacies and traditions and you just don't cancel legacies and traditions any more than you would cancel Christmas or Easter. Guggenheim is an institution not unlike the sun. Without it, nothing would grow and without Guggenheim, the minds of the children in that neighborhood would not grow. Public school is just that...for the public and is paid for by our taxes. So don't eradicate...EDUCATE!
