  • I am very disappointed in Edgar L. Miller Elementary School. My son has been attending the school since Kindergarten. He entered the school knowing how to read. He scored high on all of his test scores. Now he is in the 4th. grade and has lost all motivation to continue to learn. His grades are poor. He has too much homework every night. He has to do two or more pages of spelling, math, social studies, science, vocabulary every night. My son can not participate in any other activities because he is at home nightly doing homework. When he gets the homework, he does not know how to do it. I have to sit at the table and help him with his home work every night. He has no ideal what to do. One day his 4th. grade teacher gave him 20 pages of Language Arts pages to do. My son has lost all motivation and desire to learn. I as a parent don't know what to do. My son is a bright and intellegent boy but you can't tell this by the grades he is receiving at Edgar L. Miller school. I have been at the school several times observing . The principal asked me was I going to come to the school everyday. I thought to myself yes, this is my son's education. My son's does not get to bed until 10:00 p.m. at night because he is up doing his homework. I was told at the parent teacher conference that I was enabling my son's education because I was helping him with his homework. I
