  • Consider this school only if you're desperate. They care more about money and appearances than the students. They drop regular teaching for several weeks in order to "prep" the students to do well on the CLEP so that they can get the money that is based on how many students take the CLEP. If they really cared about teaching our children, they'd be more concerned with actually teaching than they are with money. They have several teachers who should not be allowed to teach but the (...) (who has received numerous complaints about these teachers from parents and staff who have children at the school) doesn't seem to care about the students or how they are doing. Additionally, in several cases of bullying, the school punished the victim by forcing them to switch classrooms and, eventually, leave the school while, basically, rewarding the bully for his/her behavior. Additionally, their security is severely lacking. Outside doors are often left unlocked or partially ajar so that anyone could walk right in at any time, the front desk is not always manned so anyone could just walk in and walk right by the front desk and into the school. Even when someone is at the front desk they're often so busy that it's easy to just walk right by them and right into the school completely unnoticed. New Vision Charter School is not a safe place for your children. This school started out with lots of good intentions but have clearly strayed from that path. Thank God a new charter will be opening soon. Hopefully the new school will live up to their promises. New Vision Charter School fall far short in almost all areas and you would be wise to look at the traditional public school system before sending your children to this school.
