  • I went to this school from the fall of 1959 through the spring of 1965. If the conditions mentioned in these reviews are true then the present students of Summer Grove will not receive the quality education that I received. I was given a solid foundation in basic skills and more importantly,I was held responsible for my actions. Our principal never hesitated to paddle us at the slightest hint of misbehavior. Perhaps this school should take up the example of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans. The students there voted overwhelmingly in favor of keeping corporal punishment when the local school board wanted to do away with it as "non-character building". I have to ask,how does the other way work exactly?

  • The (...) at this school gets things done as far as taking care of the school itself. She does not socialize with the children. I think this is very important to smaller children. They are losing staff left and right because they cant control the behavior of some of the students. They aren't allowed to send the unruly students to the office so that others can learn. All the good teachers have just about abandoned this school. Recess is a joke 4th and 5th grade only get 1 recess a week and people wonder why they are uncontrollable. Forget volunteering at this school you aren't allowed on campus as a parent unless it's a school function. PTA is a joke field day is a joke.
