Phoebe Hearst is one elem. school whose performance is on the same level. They work in the buddy system if you are not a buddy you are screwed. My son has been suspended by the asst prin. without discussing the facts. He has had his glasses knocked out of shape but did anything happen to that child? no. Parent beware of Phoebe Hearst

My son was supposed to start his first day in 2nd grade today,we just moved here from out of state,and are new 2 everything.I enrolled him about 2 or 3 weeks before school started I asked a lot of questions but of course no answers other than call the week before school starts. so I do, first time for uniforms and trying to find them at last minute wasnt convient and frustrating,also trying to find out the bus situation didnt get anywere. My husband took off a few hours to get that all squared away. no such luck, i get there his name isnt even listed on any of the lists to show which room he should be in I was tossed back in forth between people not knowing whats going on,finally ended up in the office again might as well get the bus situation taken care of while im there. ha ya im told the bus cant pick him up. so theres no way im leaving him there when I have no way for him to get home. so I get home call the school they're too busy to deal with me at the moment they say call back in about an hour or so I do they look into it and still the same answer..frustrating and worried now, they say they will call me back and let me know somethin didnt hear anything all day...finally my husband comes home tells me he talked to them and basically he said that its not unsafe for my 7yr. old (and I have a 4 yr. old we are awaiting there call to see if they can accept him,) to walk to school .40 miles away....ummm ya that should say something about how much this school really looks out for the younger ones...I understand that I am close but im not on the same street nor am I within viewing distance of the school at all and for a young child that has just moved here knows no one thats not safe!It would be a little different if he was older maybe in his teens I wouldnt be as worried be he is still a child and If you havent seen the news latley...its no were near safe around here...I take my sons life seriously and I dont appreciate the school not trying to help solve this issue instead of threatning that 16 more days if he isnt here he fails...thats rediculous.. I want him to be in school im not trying to keep him from it but under my circumstances of only having one vehicle and 2 other children I dont think thats right just to ignore the problem,I think they should look into making a few changes into fixing the rules on the lil ones under the age of 10 that live near the school should have the option to ride for there safty...not everyone is well off and has cars lined up the block to use at there disposal everyones situation is different... and I regret highly moving here,and I think there school system needs a lot of improvment never have I scene a more unorganized school in my life. I dont recommend this school sorry.
