  • Buckeye is a good school. It is like a tightly knit family. Deville is a small community, therefore most of us know each other very well. We have sports teams and educational clubs and organizations. We have a dance or two and a homecoming parade. The only negatives about our school are the lack of money and technology and the fact that some teachers and administrators care too much about football and other sports and not enough about academics. I mean, it seems as though the football team losing to another school is more important than students who place at rally or the band placing first in their competition. Thanks to that one thing, it kind of ruins the point of school.

  • Heck yeah! What a fun school that was. Wouldn't have been the same without Coach Hawthorne's Chemistry or Mr. Lucas's Alegra II class!

Do you guys still paint the panther every homecoming?

  • I think that the teachers are concentrating too much on rules and regulation for students than teaching them what they need to know. I could care less if my son wore a purple belt to school as long as he was getting an education and learning basic knowledge so he can become a productive member of society. When a child comes home and begs his mother to have a talk with who ever can get him into a class that he can learn something from rather than listening to a teacher yell for an entire class period about rules of the color of their belts or strings hanging from pants - this tells me something is wrong with the school system. I personally called the school like the other mothers did and asked for my child to be switched from a class.Without me saying names or subject - they knew!! This again is a problem but one that I was told my son will have to deal with cause education is first come first serve and others had called first and got changed but my son suffers from a teacher that isn't interested in her students or her algebra class. My son failed this same teacher 2 years ago ... so here we go again. This is why teacher should be underpaid! My children suffer from teacher who do not want to teach!

  • It's a pretty good school, although sometimes it doesn't feel like we have that much influence to do major things. Hopefully things will get better, and we'll be able to do more complex fund raisers and things.

  • I think this school is a wonderful school. We have a lot of new wonderful teachers and a new assistant principle, also new coaches, and the other teachers that have been there and still are there are wonderful teacher too. Mrs. Passmore is a wonderful principle, and Coach Flyod is a wonderful assistant principle, I love this school and I will be graduating in 2008 and there a guy that is in the 10th grade who I am a close friend too. He is also on the football team.
