  • My 7 year old son attends 2nd grade at this school and he is doing very well here. His teacher is challenging him to excel at his studies and keeps me and his mother well informed of his progress. I think that South Polk Elementary is one of the better schools in Vernon Parish and I would like to see more Gifted and Talented Education programs for children like my son due to the level that his teacher has him at and I would recommend South Polk as a good school for anyone who has a child that likes to learn.

  • I am very disappointed about this school! I can not believe this school is on the military base. Most of the teachers I feel are just there for a paycheck. Most are quick to yell and insult and belittle the children. My son's teacher's favorite phrase " is oh well." Instead of helping my child understand a question. The Vice Principal there is spineless and gives false promises. When these issues were brought up he never has any solutions other than " I will handle it." If you are moving on post and your child will be attending this school I suggest you send your child to a different school. They will have a much better experience.
