  • I disagree 100% with the unifrome standard. My child has been targted more than once for not meeting the uniform standard. He had a hat taken away when it was 50 degrees outside. It was early in the morning and was cold. He was outside and not in the building. I understand rules and regulations but if this school is keeping my child from being able to stay warm I think that is crazy.

  • The teachers at this school care more about there own benefit than the benefit of the students. They think they can talk to the students anyway they please and students should still respect them. You guys are just teachers! Don't make it as if you should be held so highly, simply teach our kids. This school is going downhill, it is becoming to strict and doesn't want the students to have an enjoyable high school experience. Half the teachers here simply throw the work in to our children's faces and say learn. Teachers these days don't care if they learn, they just want to get the day over with. The few teachers that do actually care about the students at this school is now going to be fired. This is unacceptable! we can not continue to let the administration suck the fun out of the high school experience as they have continued to do. Us parents need to draw a line and show them that it can only be taken so far. There is a thin line between the right thing and plain old stupidity.
Yuma High admin. is plain old stupidity!

  • I attended YHS from 1999-2003. All of my teachers were fair, nice, and understanding. Classes weren't too crowded and the teachers were always available for extra help.

I participated in many clubs like NHS, COE, FBLA, French Club, and Renaissance. I would highly recommend joining some clubs while attending the school. I had a blast during those 4 years thanks to the clubs. Plus, being involved in extra-currricular activities helped me stay focused on academics. In the end, I ended up at the top of my class and a full-ride scholarship to ASU.
