This school is in fact very deceiving. I just saw all the awards it received and I am truly shocked. This school failed to give proper assessment and guidance to new freshmen students but it was the cause for several freshmen to fail on their first year of high school. Staff was more concerned about what students were wearing to school than what their academic needs were this past school year. Staying after school (detention) was a waste of time for students; students should stay after school for reviews, assessment, and guidance and not for saying things like: "jesus". These children are our future but without help there is no future. Repeating a year of high school is very discouraging for teens. It's embarrassing. Teens have enough to deal with already and this issue added to the list of things to worry about is an overflow. Every year the number of high school drop outs increases. Any job these days requires a high school diploma. This problem can lead our children to a fatal end: drug addiction, alcoholism, homelessness, prostitution, etc. If we all did our part things could have been so much better. Don't just focus on getting awards, focus on making a difference in these children's lives.
