  • That's pretty scary that the guidence counselors share private information with other members of the staff and other parents. That should be brought to the attention of the superintendent and the guidence counselor should be fired. This is what happens when emotionally arrested people are allowed to teach a subject and then become guidence counselors. It does not matter how qualified the individual looks on paper to be a guidence counselor, what does matter is if the individual is a genuine, compasssionate, caring person who has the ability to treat all students equally and not discriminate against students who may not fit the "perfect high school student" mold. It is a tragedy for all current and future SHS students who may be "different" to have to deal with a guidence counselor that does not have the ability to treat ALL students equally. You can't just learn or somehow aquire that special ability if IT WAS NEVER THERE to begin with.

  • The counselors don't care about the kids and neither do the teachers. They let the kids do whatever they want and then suspend them. I had one teacher that let my kid out of class on a regular basis, my kid would go to an art class instead and that teacher would let her in knowing she didn't belong in that class. SHe has been suspended for this numerous times and the teacher continues to let her in. Guidance counselors share private information with other members of staff and even with other parents. This school is a joke, always has been.
