  • Overall DEPSA is a good school. It’s not too many schools like this in Detroit. The quality of education your child receives all comes down to the teachers, the students and parental involvement. The teaching/admin staff is great. The science (Mr. Jones) and forensics (Ms. Caldwell) courses need some improvement. The math (Mr. Sumerton), social studies (Mr. Wooten), and health (Mr. Burley) are outstanding. The student body is pretty good but mainly African American. No major incidents to speak of. Parent involvement is pretty good, but could be more organized.
