- DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL! The school needs a data-driven curriculum. It is currently based on centers. The teachers are not allowed to use text books (only as references). They have not met AYP. The teachers are great, but they need help too. They need to be supported and given guidance, not threats. The children need to be children. They need to play at lunch, not be caged in the cafeteria and made to sit silently. The school cafeteria is horrible. The children need a well-balanced meal, not rice with meat or pizza with a side of scrambled eggs. Who would eat that? The lunch ladies take uneaten food off of the children's trays and puts it back in the kitchen so that they do not waste it. That is against OSHA rules. The latchkey program is just as bad. The children are made to sit quietly with their heads down. They are not allowed to run and have fun. They cancel services only a day in advance, so what are parents to do? They depend on those services. The last week of school, they cancelled latchkey all together. School is still in session, why isn't latchkey still in session? They can not answer that. If you have other options, do not send your child to WVA.
