  • This school is amazing. I am not a parent, but an aunt of four children attending Carstens. This school has facilitated the awesome academic growth of my nieces and nephew. They came to Carstens from another DPS school, and since they have been at this school the growth in their achievement and success has been phenomenal. It is a shame that this is one of the schools scheduled for closure by Robert Bobb.

  • This is an awesome school for elementary age children. It's been recognized by The Skillman Foundation -- most recently as a High-Performing School (it's highest ranking.) It was also recognized by the Michigan Department of Education as the second most improving Title 1 school according to student achievement. The teachers are highly qualified, certified and care about the children. Academics are a high priority, but success is achieved by supporting the children and families in all ways. The principal is an outstanding leader who always goes the extra mile and expects the same of each and every staff member. It's all about the children at Carstens! This commitment is the reason they learn and grow so much!
