  • In defense of the principal of MacArthur. She use to be the principal of stevenson elementary and at that time she was no nonsense. The school flourished and the students learned. If the children behavior was distrubuting learning, they were out of there. There is a new principal at stevenson and she is very nice, however she allows parents like you (3/17) to allow your children to disturb the learning process of other children. The academics the academics and expecations have dropped.I wonder if even live in southfield. The principal at Macathur may be tough, but its needed in this day and society.i rather have tough than passive. Your complaint is the principal attitude, not the academics. which is more important.control your children. Stevenson is another Detroit public school.

  • The principal is the leader and overall representation of the school, unfortunately the principal at MacArthur is a very negative representation of what MacArthur could flourish into. Most of the teachers are very involved and provide quality academics and guidance to the students. The prinicpal overshawdows the accomplishments of the school with her 'controlling' and 'personality' issues. The staff as well as the students are terrified of her and she uses ways of intimidation towards the parents. If not for the principals lack of personable skills this could possibly be an outstanding school. FYI: MacArthur is a K-8 school located at 24501 Frederick, Sfld, MI 48033. I wonder where the address listed came from?
