  • This is by far the worst school ever. I was looking at the statistics and only 66% of students graduate. Of that 66 percent, a large amount of girls are pregnate. On a scale from 0 (worst) -100 (best) West High school ranks a 24 in testing. Of the 2005 graduating statistics the highest % of graduates are white, but only 80% of them graduate. The Hispanic race is lingering with a mere 57% graduating.
When I was in that school system the teachers really do not care about you or where you go in life. They expect you to fail. Leadership is biased, and there is no fairness when it comes to discipline. If you are involved in an incident, both are suspended without a fair trial. Classrooms are overcrowded, and there is no incentive to go. Why would anyone want to be trapped in a place for 6 hours of your day, with no air conditioning barely any heat, teachers that don't want you to succeed, and nothing to motivate you besides the continually slimming chance you will graduate? This school in an embarrassment to NH public school system, but speaks volumes. It's not just West, or Central, or the Manchester school systems. It's New Hampshire's outlook on education that needs to be reformed.
NH is lagging by in statistics. In Newsweeks 2009 issue, only 2 New Hampshire schools made it to the top 1,500. Both did not beat 1,000. That's ridiculous! Out of the entire state, only 2 could make it, and barely rank at that?!
That's my two cents, and its actually coming from someone who went.
