  • Horrible! Don't send your child to HHS.

  • Hillside High School does not help their students. Most High Schools in NJ are concerned about their students education, not HHS Staff. They will keep them behind if the could. What ever happened to the "No child left behind" in NJ? Based on the way they teach, most of the students are behind.

Also, most High schools offer online courses or they can take additional classes to help their students get the credits they need in order to graduate early or ontime. Not at HHS, they. HHS send their students to a high school, which offers night school in a really bad neighborhood located in Newark. Your other otions is summer school. However, students will have to go the schools they select, which is located in Elizabeth, NJ, which is another not so great area.

If your child have to make up a major course, he or she will not be able to do two major courses. They will give the students courses they don't need, instead of giving them the courses they need in order to graduate ontime. So, if your child need to taking Spanish I, but, need to pass Spanish I and Spanish II in order to graduate on time. He or she will not be able to take both courses. They will give them an elective such as art instead of Spanish II. The students will only be able to take Spanish I in HHS (during normal school hours) but, will then have to make up the other course in night school in Newark, or go to summer school. But, if you are trying to graduate, summer school is not going to work.
