  • I have only been a part of this school one year and unfortunately have to endure a couple of months this year. I have never been a part of a school that does not give a care about whether a student is failing or not. My child was an A student, Gateway to be exact, when she entered that school. She is now a C student. If a child is miserably failing and dropping in that manner, a teacher that truly cares should call a conference with the parent to discuss the matter----you know, step in and do some preventative actions. This school is filled to the rim with gang members and they aren't afraid to strut their stuff in school. My child had to dread going to school after a while because she wouldn't join the gangs and didn't know who would say or do something to her. It is not a very welcoming place, even to me as the parent. If you are moving to Fayetteville, I would, at any cost, do your best to stay out of this school district. It is not worth the headache, insecurity, and your child's school years.
