  • I also agree with the first review. The principal at this school runs it like a bootcamp and is very hostile. The parents were not even informed when a copperhead was found in the library! I know of one parent who forgot to send in lunch money ONE time and got a letter saying she would be turned in to social services if it happened again! If your child is in this school and you would like to switch them you can. This schools scores have been bad enough the last few years that you can switch to a different school no matter where you are districted. I did!

  • I agree with the first writer. Every thing she said is dead on. I'm glad someone else sees the bootcamp effect. My daughter is young and she already hates going to school. I have never seen the principal in the hall.

  • I have a little girl that attends one of the exceptional student classes at this school and from what I have seen I am impressed by this school for the same reasons that the other person who rated this school is unhappy.
I think children go to school to learn discipline, structure and most importantly academics and respect. The children I see in the hallways and on the playgrouns seem happy and also well behaved. I would not want my children to go to a school who lets the kids run the show.
Unfortunatly, this school will not be my assigned school when my other children are old enough to go. But I am trying to arrange for them to go to this one.

  • I have been involved with this school for several years now and have witnessed its decline. It went from being a school that I was proud to say my children were attending to a place that I dread taking them. There are still a few really good teachers at Cleveland, but the school itself has become like a boot camp. The children are not allowed to talk the majority of the time (not even at lunch) and they have to do laps instead of having a recess. If you try to relay your concerns to the administration of the school you are made to feel unwelcome and foolish for even suggesting that any change is needed. The school has stopped caring about its students and cares only about test scores and how quiet the children are. All of my children are honor roll students, but now their love of learning is being dampened by this attitude the staff has acquired. It has been sad to watch and I am sad to say that I do not recommend this school anymore.
