Mitchell High School does not do their job to help the kids learn about life & try to encourage them. Instead they put them down & tell them they will not amount to nothing. That dont sound like a very good way to help the kids. There are some that have it paved out for them. But there are others who they just shove aside and dont even bother with. Whether its because they dont have as much money in there family, there parents dont have as great a place in the county, or they dont play sports. That is not the way a school should be run. Their principal is also not doing his job. He has not done one thing since he came here but sit in his office. This school is very judgemental. Very judgemental. They see things in tunnel vision. They do not protect the kids. On a lockdown when a threat was made for a shooting all that was done was the gate was closed. Anyone could have just walked around it and got into the school. This school needs a new principal and maybe a whole new staff. It has gone upside down and really messed up. Not the kind of school I want my child to go to.

If you can find a better school in north carolina where the teachers care more for their students than Mitchell High School, I would suggest you go there. We have one of the best schools in the state! I wouldn't want my children to attend any other school system. Thanks to all that help make Mitchell High the best!

Mitchell High School Sucks!! The absence rules have resulted in so many dropouts and the teachers are uncaring as well as "under educated". I could do a better job at teacher than most of the teachers here. Mitchell High needs to get their act together or eventually they will not have enough students to even call theirselves a school!!!!

I think that Mitchell High School is in the worst shape possible. Most of the teachers need to go back to school! You can not have a battle of wits with an unarmed person! Most of the teachers are only counting the days to retirement. They keep forgetting who is paying them. They answer to no one. If a parent has a question the teachers act as if they have no right to question them. I just wonder why the drop out rate keeps rising?

What can i really say Its one of the lowest ranked in the state. Theres room for them to in all aspects. First off , I was never really satisfied with the math department. Were do they find these teachers? Most of the staff have favorites from what I hear. I'm not sure if has to do with who your parents are, what grades you make , or rather or not you play sports. I total agree that
Mitchell should be preparing our children more for life than what they do. It also is not the type of school that prepares you for a four year university.
Its definitely not the way a school should be ran properly.

mitchell needs do do a lot of work. As a graduate from mitchell high school, I have experience. The school is Dumb I can get away with anything I wanted all through high school and no questions were ever asked. For example, I could get, buy and do drugs at school all in the same day. Im sure this is a comfort for parents.
