(5 / 5) Flag as inappropriate - Coffman rocks. We have amazing classes, experienced teachers who are willing to explain to you anything anytime, a safe and active city, 18 AP classes, great clubs, an IB program, and we had 8 national merit semifinalists this year in '08

- To the parent that feels we at Dublin Coffman teach our children that winning is everything. I think you are wrong, and I am not sure how you can be the pot calling the kettle black. I am sure not all the students at this event were booing your band. So, for you to indicate they were is wrong in you. I believe that what is taught to our children in to give 150% of yourself, strive for excellence and you will reach it. My daughter just started Dublin Coffman last year as a freshman. I must tell you I was very nervous about her attending. Not because of academia reason, but because I was afraid that she would start to behave like you imagine rich snobby kids to behave. However, that was not the case. Let me tell you we do not have near the money that some of these families have, and for the most part I have been very impressed with not only the students and how well they have accepted my daughter, but of the parents as well. They are all very hard working and seem to be very sincere people. So to the parent that gives us an F my note to you is, please before you rank a school so poorly, please do more research. Yes, we do encourage our children to win, and give everything not just sport 150%. Dublin Coffman is a fine school to in teaching children a sense of balance between life, school work, and sports. I am very proud to say I am the parent of a Dublin Coffman Shamrock!

(1 / 5) Flag as inappropriate - I have to say as a parent of a band member from a school who played football against this school, I was very disgusted with our visit to their school. The facilities were very nice, the football team and band were impressive. However the students at Dublin-Coffman High School are obviously taught that winning is everything and they are the best and therefore can treat others badly.
They booed our band as they came on the field. A band that is not even half their size. Our students work very hard. Just because we are not as outstanding as your own, it made me cringe. We are not even in your division in football, we are not rivals or anything. Just a team that drove over an hour to be booed by your rude children.
I guess money doesn't buy humility or kindness!
