(1 / 5) Flag as inappropriate - I am a former student of Springfield Middle School in Springfield, Oregon. I attended this awful school approximately in 1986-1987. I remember only a few teachers there at the time. I was an outsider in school. I was overweight and awkward and the kids teased me terribly. From verbal abuse on school grounds, (...) abuse off of school grounds, and physical abuse on school grounds and none of the staff would help me. Granted they did not know of some of the magnitude that happened but they did know that I was verbally abused and every time I tried standing up for myself one teacher in particular would give me a detention for not ignoring the other students and saying the word shut up. The other kids were not punished. The following school year I relocated to the State of Washington where I was desperate for acceptance and in the process of that I became a crack cocaine addict, been in jail numerous times, became a felon and this probably would not have happened if the other kids were forced to leave me alone to this date in 2009 I am still haunted by my experience in this school. The teachers should have stood up for me and made it stop. I rate this school as terrible
