  • As a previous commentor pointed out, the HASD only teaches the "anchors" of the PSSAs so they are able to get their funding. Unfortunately, most of the teachers are either not very good at their jobs, have been there too long and no longer wish to teach, or just simply don't care either way. In my years at Drums I recall teachers favoring certain students and singling out others. I'm even able to remember two teachers in particular allowing students to grade the tests themselves!

  • I think that the Drums School is a school that only teaches to the PSSA State Tests. This goes for all the schools in the Hazleton Area School District. I would not recommand your child to go to this school. I when to this school for 4 years. I think the teachers at this school should learn how to teach, not just read from a textbook.
