  • I was a student in 1988 and would like to thank ms. astengo and ms. machett ( sorry for the spelling) yeah, my grammars bad but. I have done more with my life than anyone thought possible for me( no im not rich). these two teachers helped me when i graduated 8th grade to "see" that when they used to push me in class they actually cared. To bad it took me years to "see" this. Thanks for being tough on the outside but soft inside.

  • DURFEE SCHOOL USED TO BE A WONDERFUL SCHOOL, ESPECIALLY WHEN MS. PHIPPS WAS PRINCIPAL! NOW THE LUNCHES ARE HORRIBLE, THERE ARE VERY FEW FUNDRAISERS TO HELP THE SCHOOL AND THE SCHOOL HAS LOST ITS DISTINGUISHED STATUS

  • Durfee may have been a Distinguished school, but no longer. The attitude presented to struggling students is "do it or fail", with no suggestions to improve being offered beyond lecturing on the price of failing. If the student fits the program, they may get plenty of help, but if they don't fit, they are tossed to the wayside to fend for themselves.

  • Durfee school is one of the best schools in El Monte!!! I went there afer I came out of Cherrylee elementery. Although these days some people call Durfee GHETTO it's not, because if it was so ghetto how did they win the Distinguished School Award out of all the schools in California? I think Durfee is the best school EVER!!!
