  • This is a very poor choice of high school. I am currently enrolled here(sophomore), and I must say, sports outweigh academics(in the eyes of the head staff at least). They have just built a new football field, costing quite a lot, but the majority of classes do not have enough text books for all of the students. A lot of the teachers are very biased toward athletics, but, to the teacher's credit, the one's who aren't are generally very good.
Quite a few of the teachers are stereotypical however; I am a very quiet,
and academically inclined, but, I do dress
very 'scene', so the majority of teachers automatically consider me a 'hooligan'. Overall, the school is poor, but it's one of the best in the area(which really isn't saying too much) :(

  • I am a former student of Lock Haven High School, and after reading a comment that was posted, I felt inclined to write a comment of my own. When I was in high school, a teacher who I think is now teaching at Central Mountain High School made a comment that will stick with me for the rest of my life. He asked me what I planned to do with my life and stated that I would never make it in college (in front of the entire class, I might add). I was really having a hard time at that point, (my family had fallen apart), and I was missing a lot of school. I really needed support, and that particular teacher was all but supportive. Well Mr. S, I am pleased to announce that I now have 126 credits and a 4.0 GPA. Teachers have the power to make a positive or negative impact on a child's life, and those who chose to knock children down rather than build them up do not deserve to be teachers.

  • i think that Central Mountain high school would be better if the higher classman would be nice and talk to the under classman. I also think it coud be better if we could use the metal dectors for not just the heart academy but for the whole school.

  • Most of the teachers at this high school were eager to know the students one on one. Not just to grade their homework and send them on their way, but when it comes down to it, the principles and head staff at Central Mountain, I believe are cheap, unconsiderate and pick favorites. I ended up quitting school my senior year due to the head staff stating that I was a failure, and had no future ahead of myself. Although I had some of the best years of my life in the walls of Central Mountain, I did not get to graduate with my class. If I could go back, I would. I would get them in a lot of trouble for judging me. I think I deserve an apology. Will I ever get one? Highly doubtful. The head staff would never admit they were "wrong." I just want the parents and students of Central Mountain High to take action when a staff member does or says something that they shouldn't. I will be behind you and back you up as a former student. My children and family will not be attending this school as long as these staffs members are still present.
