- I grew up in East Texas, and had the good sense to realize from an early age that the whole world could not possibly be shrouded in the ignorance, intolerance to thinking outside the box, and bigotry that I encountered growing up. I had hoped that things had changed since I graduated and moved away from Jasper County; unfortunately it's apparent that narrow-minded thinking and an inability/unwillingness to accept free thinking still reigns. Shame on you, Brookeland ISD, if you are guilty of what you are being accused of. You are failing those that you are supposed to be educating and preparing for the real world, which doesn't tolerate the ignorance you promote!
