  • I graduated from Roosevelt in May of 2005. It is an underprivileged school. That is not to say the students are ignorant or the teachers inefficient. Simply put, due to the area that the school is located in and the low income houses surrounding that area, not to mention the fact that the funding of schools is directly provided through housing taxes; there is just not enough money to pay for great lunches, advanced and creative elective courses, brand new books, and all of the fancies that adolescents in wealthier communities enjoy. This fact makes students act out in retaliation to receiving not second, but possibly 7th best. Still, because strife often makes people rise above their struggles, there are students at Roosevelt that are able to out-smart many teenagers at the richest schools; and their are teachers even more wonderful!

  • This school is low performing and GPA is below satisfactory. The teachers give up on their students and don't set high standards which don't prepare them for college.
