  • The school overall is good. Don't believe the stereotype we have been stamped with of being a ghetto school. We have a really good robotics team and have more students enrolled in AP/Dual-Credit classes than any school in our district.

  • The principal is unproffessional. I went to talk to him about my son's absences and he accused me of attacking him?! The teachers mark kids absent when they are present and present when they are absent. All he could do was make excuses rather than try to come up with a solution. When I told him I saw where the problem was. He started screaming at the top of his lungs "I RUN THIS SCHOOL!" "GET OUT OF MY SCHOOL!". He in turn had me escorted off of the property like I was some kind of criminal. BEWARE!! Its a shame because there are some good teachers there. Too bad their boss is an caveman.

  • to the former student that posted feb 4th 2007....I think you might need to go back because your use of the variation "their" is incorrect. I think you might have been paying too much attention to how the other people were dressed, than you were in your grammar class.

  • I think that going to his school was a great opportunity for me. Although they didn't have rules that focused on the real problems going on in Shoemaker and they tripped about everything I still loved the school, not because I was a teachers pet but because I have never been at a school for that long because i was a military child an i appreciate this school more because i moved away my senior year and i miss my friends and my finance'

  • I am not giving the school a below average rating, but rather its website. why is it that KISD does not have "Parent Portals"? Many of us are deployed and care about how our children are doing while we are deployed. We need access to our child's records and progress in a fashion that does not take up the counselor's or register's time with numerous phone missed phone calls (or received ones) about how our children are doing in school. Many school districts across the state and the country have parent portals, why doesn't KISD. Respectfully, SGM Strong
