In this lesson, you can have a published writer visit the classroom and discuss writing.
Goals

About writers
How writers create a story
Materials Needed
Books about writers
A writer who has had material published
Procedure
First, you can read a book about writers or talk about the student's library books and the person who wrote the books.
Then, you can have a writer come and speak to the students about writing, how they started writing, and what they have published.
You also might want to display the author’s books in your classroom or library so the children can look at them.
Grading
You can reward the students on listening to the speaker.
