In the beginning, Columbus State University was known as Columbus College because it was a two-year college. Later on, Columbus College changed its name to Columbus State University and became a four-year public university. It is located in Columbus, Georgia. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields including liberal arts. It also offers twenty programs in more than thirteen countries so that students can increase their educational skills by studying abroad. The business school received recognition because of the MBA program and because of its servant leadership program. The teacher education and certification program in drama is also an excellent program. Students come from all 50 states and every major metropolitan area in Georgia. The university also has an excellent international education program, so students from more than 40 countries come to Columbus State University to receive an education. Some of the countries include Japan, South Korea, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Columbus State University also has a joint doctoral program with Valdosta State University.
